Samhain (pronounced: Sow-win) is the ancient Celtic festival that celebrates of beginning of winter’s darkness on October 31st and the living mingle with ghosts, fairies and demons.
A riff on the hallowed Penicillin, this drink is a smoky, peaty mix of Scotch lifted with citrus, torched with ginger and cloaked in a wintery herbal mist. Let the spirits carry you away!
2oz blended Scotch
1/4oz single-malt Scotch
A&M recommends Islay single malt Scotch Laphroaig
1oz freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice
1oz Honey Syrup
For the honey syrup, combine equal parts honey and hot water and stir until well mixed. Let cool before using.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add blended Scotch, grapefruit juice and syrup.
Shake until well-chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass, preferably with a single large ice cube.
Float the single-malt Scotch on top.
Add 3-5 Drops of Warm Ginger Elixir
Finish with 2 sprays of Rosemary & Wild Honey Aromatic Mist.
